MLIS Synopsis and Project Last Date

If you are an MLIS student, it’s important to follow the timeline for Synopsis and Project Report submission to complete your course on time. Here’s a simple guide

For July Session Students (Planning to Complete by June Next Year)

1. Submit Synopsis

Last date: 30th November of the same year.

Submit it to your Programme Coordinator.

2. Approval of Proposal

You will receive approval by 31st January of the next year.

3. Submit Project Report

Last date: Before 31st May

Where to send:

The Registrar (SR&ED), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi – 110068

4. Result:

You will get your result with the June Term-End Examination, expected in August.

For January Session Students (Planning to Complete by December Same Year)

1. Submit Synopsis

Ideally by 31st May, to allow time for approval and project completion.

2. Approval of Proposal

Try to get approval by 31st July.

3. Submit Project Report

Last date: Before 30th November

Where to send:

The Registrar (SR&ED), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi – 110068

4. Result:

You will get your result with the December Term-End Examination, expected in February.

Important Notes:

Approval of the Synopsis may sometimes take 1 to 2 months, so submit early.

Only one hard copy of the project report is to be submitted.

Submitting late can delay your degree!
